About the Beach

Nea Koutali is a quiet and very traditional beach located in the namesake village on the southern coast of Lemnos, famous for its history of sponge diving. The shore is sandy and the water is exceptionally calm and shallow, reflecting the protected nature of the large bay. It is a very local and unorganized spot where you can enjoy a peaceful swim among the small fishing boats. The village itself is very charming and features a museum dedicated to the maritime traditions of the area. There are several traditional cafes and tavernas along the waterfront, offering a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. It is an ideal destination for those who want a quiet dip in a setting that feels like a real community rather than a tourist resort.
