Evie Michaels is (probably) coming back. Rita Wilson says she is returning for HBO's Girls revival, and the way she broke the news was peak Rita.

Asked by People whether she would be part of it, Wilson laughed and said, "That is what I'm hearing, so I don't think Lena would be lying about that." She was chatting with the magazine at the Forbes 30/50 5-Year Anniversary Summit in New York on Friday, October 16.

The revival itself was announced on October 13. HBO is bringing Lena Dunham's series back for five new episodes, with production starting in 2027, a full decade after the original finale. Dunham, Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke, Zosia Mamet and Andrew Rannells are all set to return, as Variety and Deadline reported.

Wilson played Evie, the eccentric mother of Williams's Marnie. She joined in season 2 and popped up throughout the show's run, which ended in 2017.

Her love for the team has clearly not faded. "Lena is one of the most talented people I've ever worked with. I would do anything for her," she told People. "I would bend over backwards." She added that she was lucky enough to play Allison Williams's mom, and that she knows Dunham has "gotta be cooking up something very good."

If her name means something in Greek households beyond HBO, there is a good reason. Wilson, who was raised Greek Orthodox by a Greek mother, is the producer who helped turn Nia Vardalos's one-woman play into My Big Fat Greek Wedding, the film The Hollywood Reporter has called the biggest indie hit ever.

She was also an executive producer on Mamma Mia!, the ABBA musical that put Skopelos on the map for a whole generation of movie fans.

And Greece has returned the love. Wilson, her husband Tom Hanks and their children were made honorary Greek citizens after officials highlighted Hanks's work raising awareness of the deadly 2018 wildfires near Athens. The couple received their Greek passports in July 2020 and own property on Antiparos, according to CNN.

Wilson turns 70 on October 26, so a Girls reunion is a pretty great way to walk into a milestone birthday.
