Mastiha Roots

Mastiha Roots is a Greek organism based in Mesa Didyma, one of the 24 traditional Mastiha villages on the island of Chios, Greece. Our mission is to preserve the unique cultural and agricultural heritage of Chios Mastiha while creating meaningful connections between people, businesses, nature, and local communities.

Rooted in a centuries-old cultivation tradition, we have developed an innovative model that combines cultural heritage preservation, environmental responsibility, community support, and sustainable business opportunities.

Our activities include:

Mastiha Tree Adoption: Individuals and businesses worldwide can adopt an authentic Mastiha tree in Chios, creating a personal connection with the land while supporting its cultivation and the preservation of traditional agricultural knowledge.

Corporate ESG & CSR Partnerships: We collaborate with companies to develop meaningful sustainability initiatives that respond to real environmental and community needs, creating tangible social value and opportunities for long-term engagement.

Purpose-Driven Corporate Gifts: We offer distinctive gifts inspired by Chios Mastiha and its heritage, including handcrafted creations made from Mastiha tree wood, connecting corporate gifting with authenticity, craftsmanship, and sustainability.

Authentic Agritourism Experiences: Visitors can explore our Mastiha groves, discover traditional cultivation techniques, experience the unique landscape and biodiversity of southern Chios, and connect directly with the living heritage of the Mastiha villages.

Employee & Customer Engagement: We create opportunities for companies to involve their teams, clients, and partners in meaningful experiences that combine sustainability, cultural discovery, and community connection.

Our tree adoption initiative has already reached people across 24 countries, demonstrating the international appeal of Chios Mastiha and its cultural significance.

Through collaborations with international businesses, we have also implemented practical community-support initiatives, including the donation of essential equipment to a local Mastiha growers' cooperative to strengthen wildfire preparedness.

At Mastiha Roots, we believe that cultural heritage can inspire new forms of responsible entrepreneurship, and that business success and positive impact can grow together.

Our vision is to build lasting partnerships that protect tradition, empower local communities, and connect the world with the extraordinary heritage of Chios Mastiha.
