About Athens Capital Hotel - MGallery Collection
Athens Capital Hotel - MGallery Collection occupies a prime corner of Syntagma Square, where Eleftheriou Venizelou Avenue meets Kriezotou Street, between the Parliament area and Kolonaki. It is part of Accor's MGallery Collection and holds Green Key certification.
Art is at the core of its identity. Greek marble and original artworks fill the public spaces, and the hotel is home to Mappemonde, a sculpture by Greek artist George Lappas made of around 3,000 metal pieces and regarded as a key work of postwar Greek art.
Rooftop pool and Acropolis views
The tenth floor rooftop is the hotel's showpiece, with an infinity pool and pool bar looking out over the Acropolis, Lycabettus Hill and, in the distance, the Saronic Gulf. One level higher, a small viewing terrace offers a panoramic outlook over the city.
Restaurants and bars
Mappemonde, the rooftop restaurant and lounge, serves creative Mediterranean dishes and signature cocktails such as The Spirit of Athens, made with mastiha and Greek orange.
MFlavours, the main restaurant, cooks Mediterranean dishes in an open kitchen, while the Galerie Café on the ground floor serves coffee, French crêpes and cocktails amid works of art.
Location and getting around
Syntagma metro station is about two minutes away on foot, and the Changing of the Guard at Parliament, the National Garden and the boutiques of Kolonaki are all close by. Plaka and the Acropolis are an easy walk.
Taxi and shuttle transfers to and from Athens International Airport can be arranged on request.
Good to know
The hotel has connecting rooms for families, babysitting on request, meeting spaces named after Greek painters, and pet-friendly rooms for small pets. Guests can also join art-themed experiences, such as making a traditional komboloi.
