About Divani Palace Acropolis
Divani Palace Acropolis stands in Makrygianni, the residential neighborhood at the foot of the Acropolis, close to the Acropolis Museum and the Odeon of Herodes Atticus. It opened in 1976 as the first Athens hotel of the Greek Divani Collection.
Rooms have private balconies and classic furnishings, and many look toward the Acropolis or Filopappou Hill. The signature Acropolis Terrace Suites face the monument directly.
History beneath the hotel
During construction, excavations revealed part of the Themistoclean Wall, the city wall Athens raised after the Persian Wars of the fifth century BC. The hotel's design was adapted to preserve it, and the remains are displayed on the lower level, where guests can view them freely.
Dining with a view of the Parthenon
Acropolis Secret, the rooftop restaurant and bar, is the hotel's highlight, serving Mediterranean dishes built on quality Greek products, with seafood and meat options and signature cocktails, all facing the Acropolis.
Aspassia, the main restaurant, serves Mediterranean cuisine and breakfast, while the D Bar offers modern bites and cocktails, served by the pool in summer.
Pool and wellness
The outdoor swimming pool is a calm spot to rest after a day of sightseeing, and the hotel also has a fitness center and a sauna.
Location and getting around
The Acropolis entrance, the Acropolis Museum and the Herodion are a short stroll away, and Plaka can be reached on foot in about ten minutes. Acropoli metro station is nearby, and Syntagma Square and Thissio are both within walking distance.
Good to know
The hotel offers conference and event space, including a meeting room set beside the ancient wall, which makes it popular for business events as well as city breaks. Free Wi-Fi, room service and private parking are available.
