Global Greek Professionals Gather in Athens for GetGreece's Networking Event

Greek professionals from around the world gathered in Athens on Thursday, October 15, 2026, for GetGreece's first networking event in Greece. Founders, business people and creatives filled the rooftop at CityZEN All Day Bar in central Athens, with the Acropolis lit up in front of them all night, and the evening sold out.

Why we brought our networking nights to Athens

Until now, our Greek networking nights have taken place in the United States. Over the past two years we have hosted them in Boston, New York, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa Bay, and Los Angeles. Athens was the first time we brought the series home to Greece.

The reason is simple. Greeks are everywhere: running startups in London, working in finance in New York, shaping policy in Brussels, making art in Los Angeles and building something new in Athens. What is usually missing is a room where they all meet. This night was meant to be that room.

That idea works for three kinds of people. If you are a Greek living abroad, it is a way to meet the people building the Greece of today, not the one on the postcards. If you live in Athens and your next opportunity sits in another time zone, it is your way in. And if you are not Greek but Greece feels like a second home, it is a chance to meet the community behind the country you love.

A rooftop night facing the Acropolis

Doors opened at 6:30 pm and the evening ran until 11:30 pm at CityZEN, on Aiolou Street in the historic centre. Guests arrived in daylight, watched the sun go down over the city and stayed long after the Acropolis was lit for the night.

The format was easy on purpose. As we promised on the Athens event page, there was nothing to sit through and nothing to pitch. Just good drinks, easy conversation and introductions made with intention.

Tickets were pay what you would like. There was no fixed price, and every ticket worked as a donation that funds this network and helps us host these gatherings for Greek communities around the world. General entry sold out before the night, so we released a small late batch on October 12, without drinks included, for those still hoping to get in.

Greeks from every corner of the world

The guest list was the best part. People joined us from the USA, Canada, Peru, the UK, Italy, Germany, Egypt, the UAE, China, Australia (Melbourne and Sydney) and, of course, Greece. Some live in Athens and others were visiting from abroad, which is exactly the mix we hoped for.

The photos tell the story better than we can: small groups talking on the terrace at sunset, new introductions around the tables and, at the end of the night, a big group photo with everyone who stayed.

A huge thank you to our sponsor, Under the Greek Sun, a Greek real estate platform that connects buyers worldwide with properties across Greece, and to Carly Giannakis. Thank you also to our host committee, Tony Kariotis, Maria Efthimiadis, Sophia Constantinides and Matt Lianides, and to every one of you who came from near and far.

Our photographer Marina (@marinamitt) captured the whole evening, from the first drinks at sunset to the last group photo. If you were there, there is a good chance you are in the Athens 2026 photo album.

Next: Greece in Boston on November 13

The series heads back to the United States next. On Friday, November 13, 2026, GetGreece and Limani present Greece in Boston at Limani Grille Seaport, 100 Northern Ave #1802, Boston, MA 02210. The evening runs from 6 to 11 pm Boston time.

Boston has one of the most established Greek communities in America, and this night is about bringing that community into one room. It is for Greek and Greek-American founders, professionals, creatives and community leaders, and for anyone with a strong connection to Greece. As in Athens, there is nothing to sit through and nothing to pitch.

This time there will also be live music, with a performance by a Greek singer and a Greek clarinet player, plus a raffle with an assortment of Greek products and a grand prize.

Entry tickets are $45, and a $100 ticket adds a welcome drink and a raffle ticket. Space is limited and advance registration is required, so if you would like to join us, you can get your tickets on the Greece in Boston event page.

Athens showed us how much this community wanted a room of its own in Greece. We hope to see you in Boston.
