Fournoi keeps its main beach organized and close to town while leaving most of the rest of the island unorganized and quiet, which suits families who don't need resort facilities to enjoy a beach day. Yes, it works well for families, particularly those wanting a slower, low-key island experience.

Fournoi's Psili Ammos, a short walk from the main town, gives families the easiest option, with soft sand and calm water in one of the few real organized spots on the island. Kampi, also close to town, adds another sandy, popular choice with clear water well suited to sunbathing and swimming together. Petrokopio, the site of an ancient marble quarry, gives older kids a real historical detail to explore alongside good snorkeling, with column fragments and carved stone still scattered along the shore.

Beyond these two, most of Fournoi's coastline stays unorganized, meaning families venturing further out should bring their own shade, food, and water rather than expecting sunbeds or beach bars. Small fishing boats run tours around the island, reaching quieter coves and the neighboring settlement of Thymaina, giving families with older kids a proper half-day adventure on the water.
