Where Should I Stay on Antipaxos?

Antipaxos keeps the decision simple, since accommodation here means private villas and farmhouses rather than a town with real neighborhoods to choose between.

Antipaxos's handful of properties cluster near Voutoumi Beach, the island's largest, giving direct access to its shifting shades of turquoise and the walking path connecting up to Vrika. Staying here puts the island's best known coastline within a short walk, with the trade-off of no shops, so groceries and supplies need to come over from Paxos.

A smaller number of villas sit closer to Vrika Beach itself, on the island's northern tip, suiting travelers who want to wake up beside the shallower, family-friendly water there rather than Voutoumi's wider bay.

Since Antipaxos has no real village, evenings mean a handful of beachfront tavernas rather than a choice of restaurants, and the payoff for staying overnight is having Voutoumi or Vrika largely to yourselves before the day boats from Gaios start arriving in the late morning.

Given how few properties exist, booking well ahead matters more here than almost anywhere else in the Ionian, and many stays are arranged directly with owners rather than through standard hotel platforms.

Once a stay is arranged, hotels and places to stay on Antipaxos consist mostly of private villas near Voutoumi and Vrika, so the choice comes down to which beach matters more for the trip.

Antipaxos has no ferry port of its own, and travelers reach it by water taxi from Gaios on Paxos, a crossing of about 15 to 20 minutes, so it's worth arranging that crossing alongside accommodation well before a summer visit. Voutoumi suits travelers wanting the island's widest beach, and Vrika suits those wanting calmer, shallower water closer to the northern tip.
