Where Should I Stay on Therasia?
Therasia keeps the decision fairly simple, since nearly all of the island's small collection of rooms and guesthouses sits in or near Manolas, the capital on the caldera rim.
Therasia's Manolas gives the most practical base, with whitewashed houses built directly on the cliff edge and views across to Oia and Fira from most balconies. It suits nearly every visitor, since the village holds the island's tavernas, a small church, and the closest thing Therasia has to a center, all within a short walk.
A handful of properties sit just outside Manolas toward Agrilia, the abandoned village nearby, giving an even quieter setting for anyone wanting real distance from other guests, though it comes with a longer walk back to a meal and a view that trades the main village's convenience for isolation.
Given how small Therasia is, staying anywhere on the island puts the harbor, the trail to the island's highest point, and Korfos beach within reach on foot or a short walk, so the real decision comes down to how close to Manolas's handful of tavernas the stay should be.
Once a base is decided, hotels and places to stay on Therasia span Manolas and the quieter spots nearby, and booking ahead matters given how few rooms the island actually has.
Therasia has no airport, and the ferry connects through Santorini or directly from Ammoudi Bay in Oia, so it's worth taking time to check ferry schedules and book tickets ahead of a visit, since crossings run only a few times a day. Manolas suits nearly every traveler, and staying overnight, rather than treating the island as a quick day trip, is what gives Therasia's caldera views their real payoff.
