Getting from Agathonisi to Arki

If you are heading to Arki from Agathonisi you are making a short hop to the closest island in the Dodecanese group, just 19 kilometres to the southwest. Arki is one of the smallest inhabited islands in Greece, with no cars, no proper roads and an atmosphere of complete isolation.

Take the ferry

There is a direct ferry from Agathonisi to Arki running several times a week, taking around 20 to 30 minutes. It is one of the shortest connections in the Dodecanese and the only practical way to make this journey. Check the schedule before planning around it as the frequency is limited and your travel dates need to align with the available departures.

Getting there by air

Arki has no airport. The ferry from Agathonisi is the only realistic option for this short connection. Flying via Athens to reach a neighbouring island 19 kilometres away is not practical.

Your best option

Take the direct ferry from Agathonisi to Arki. At around 20 to 30 minutes it is one of the shortest hops in the Aegean. Check the schedule in advance as the service runs only a few times a week. Come entirely self-sufficient as Arki has almost no facilities and the isolation is the whole point of being there.
