Getting from Agistri to Fournoi
If you are heading to Fournoi from Agistri you are making your way from a small pine-covered island in the Saronic Gulf to a cluster of small fishing islands between Ikaria and Samos in the eastern Aegean. It has excellent seafood, quiet beaches and almost no tourist infrastructure.
Take the ferry
There is no direct ferry from Agistri to Fournoi. Getting there means taking the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus, which takes around 55 minutes to 1 hour 35 minutes, the metro to Athens Airport and flying to Samos or Ikaria, followed by the local ferry from either island to Fournoi, which takes under 1 hour and runs daily in summer.
Getting there by air
Fournoi has no airport. The nearest airports are Samos and Ikaria, both with daily connections from Athens. Taking the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus, the metro to Athens Airport and flying to Samos, followed by the local ferry to Fournoi, gives a total journey time of around 5 to 6 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.
Your best option
Take the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus, fly to Samos via Athens and take the local ferry across to Fournoi. It is the most practical approach. Give yourself at least two nights on Fournoi and come prepared as facilities on the island are limited.
