Getting from Agistri to Kythira

If you are heading to Kythira from Agistri you are making your way from a small pine-covered island in the Saronic Gulf to an island at the southern tip of the Peloponnese, between the Aegean and the Ionian seas. Kythira has its own small airport with daily connections from Athens. Taking the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus, the metro to Athens Airport and flying to Kythira takes under 1 hour in the air. Total travel time is around 4 to 5 hours and is the most practical approach for most travelers.

If you are traveling with a car, take the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus and drive to Neapoli for the short ferry crossing to Kythira, which avoids the longer Piraeus route entirely.
