Getting from Alonissos to Skiathos
If you are heading to Skiathos from Alonissos you are making a short hop to the most cosmopolitan of the Sporades group. It has a lush green coastline, an international airport and some of the finest sandy beaches in the northern Aegean.
Take the ferry
There is a direct ferry from Alonissos to Skiathos running daily in summer, taking around 1 to 2 hours depending on the vessel. The fast catamaran takes around 1 hour and the conventional ferry takes around 1.5 to 2 hours. It is the most straightforward connection from Alonissos and serves as the gateway to flights and wider connections from Skiathos Airport.
Getting there by air
Alonissos has no airport. Skiathos has its own international airport with daily connections from Athens and Thessaloniki. The ferry is the most practical and enjoyable option for this short connection.
Your best option
Take the direct ferry from Alonissos to Skiathos. At around 1 to 2 hours it is one of the most effortless connections in the Sporades and puts you at an island with an international airport, excellent beaches and a lively waterfront. If you are traveling with a car, the conventional ferry takes your vehicle directly to Skiathos port.
