Getting from Anafi to Athens

If you are heading to Athens from Anafi you are making your way from one of the most remote islands in the Cyclades to the capital of Greece and the gateway to everything it connects to.

The most convenient approach for most travelers is to take the short ferry from Anafi to Santorini and fly from there.

Getting there by air

Anafi has no airport. The nearest airport is Santorini. Taking the ferry from Anafi to Santorini, which takes around 1 hour 10 to 1 hour 30 minutes, and then flying to Athens takes around 45 to 55 minutes in the air. Total journey time is around 3 to 4 hours and is the most practical approach for most travelers.

Take the ferry from Anafi to Santorini and fly to Athens. It is the fastest and most practical approach. If you prefer the sea journey or are traveling with a car, take the direct overnight ferry from Anafi to Piraeus. It is comfortable, saves a night's accommodation and you arrive in Athens in the morning with the day ahead.
