Getting from Anafi to Kimolos
If you are heading to Kimolos from Anafi you are making your way from one of the most remote islands in the Cyclades to a small white island just off the northwestern tip of Milos in the western part of the group. It has beaches that see a fraction of the crowds found anywhere nearby.
Take the ferry
There is no direct ferry from Anafi to Kimolos. The most practical approach is to take the overnight ferry from Anafi to Piraeus and then take the Piraeus to Milos ferry, followed by the short local ferry from Pollonia to Kimolos, which takes around 20 to 25 minutes and runs daily. Alternatively, take the ferry from Anafi to Santorini, fly to Athens and then fly to Milos for the short local ferry across to Kimolos.
Getting there by air
Kimolos has no airport. The nearest airport is Milos. Anafi has no airport either. Taking the ferry from Anafi to Santorini, flying to Athens and then Athens to Milos, followed by the short local ferry from Pollonia to Kimolos, gives a total journey time of around 5 to 6 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.
Your best option
Take the ferry from Anafi to Santorini, fly to Athens and then fly to Milos and take the short local ferry across to Kimolos. It is the most practical approach. If you are traveling with a car, take the overnight ferry from Anafi to Piraeus and board the conventional Piraeus to Milos ferry, then cross to Kimolos from Pollonia on the local ferry.
