Getting from Anafi to Poros

If you are heading to Poros from Anafi you are making your way from one of the most remote islands in the Cyclades to a small island in the Saronic Gulf, on the opposite side of Greece. Poros sits just 200 metres from the Peloponnese mainland and the narrow channel between them creates one of the most charming harbour settings in Greece.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Anafi to Poros. Getting there means taking the ferry from Anafi to Santorini, flying to Athens and then taking the Saronic ferry from Piraeus to Poros, which takes around 1 hour to 1 hour 20 minutes with several daily departures. Alternatively, take the overnight ferry from Anafi to Piraeus and board the Saronic ferry to Poros from there.

Getting there by air

Poros has no airport. The nearest airport is Athens. Anafi has no airport either. Taking the ferry from Anafi to Santorini, flying to Athens and then taking the Saronic ferry from Piraeus to Poros gives a total journey time of around 5 to 6 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Your best option

Take the ferry from Anafi to Santorini, fly to Athens and take the Saronic ferry from Piraeus to Poros. It is the most practical approach. If you are traveling with a car, take the overnight ferry from Anafi to Piraeus, drive to Galatas on the Peloponnese coast and take the short local ferry across to Poros, which takes only a few minutes and runs constantly throughout the day.
