Getting from Andros to Evia

If you are heading to Evia from Andros you are making your way from the northernmost island in the Cyclades to the second largest island in Greece, connected to the mainland by road bridges and relatively close in geographic terms.

Take the ferry

There is a seasonal direct ferry from Andros to Mantoudi in northern Evia running in summer, taking around 2 to 3 hours. It is one of the most natural connections from Andros and avoids going through Athens entirely. From Mantoudi you can drive south through Evia or cross the bridge to the mainland. Alternatively, take the ferry from Andros to Rafina and drive across the bridge at Halkida, around 60 kilometres from Rafina, which takes around 45 minutes.

Getting there by air

Evia has no commercial airport. The nearest airport is Athens. Andros has no airport either. The ferry connections to Mantoudi or via Rafina are considerably more practical than flying for this route.

Your best option

Take the direct seasonal ferry from Andros to Mantoudi when the schedule works for your dates. It is the most direct and enjoyable connection and avoids Athens entirely. If the direct service does not align, take the ferry from Andros to Rafina and drive across the bridge to Halkida. If you are traveling with a car, both options work well and keep you away from central Athens entirely.
