Getting from Andros to Mykonos

If you are heading to Mykonos from Andros you are making your way from the northernmost island in the Cyclades to the most cosmopolitan island in the group, a natural next stop south through the island chain. It has a maze of whitewashed lanes above the port, long beaches on the south coast and some of the best beach clubs in Greece.

Take the ferry

There is a direct ferry from Andros to Mykonos running multiple times daily in summer, operating south through Tinos before reaching Mykonos. The total crossing takes around 2.5 to 3.5 hours from Gavrio port on Andros. It is one of the most natural and frequent island hopping connections from Andros and keeps the journey entirely within the Cyclades.

Getting there by air

Mykonos has an international airport with daily connections from Athens. Andros has no airport. Taking the ferry from Andros to Rafina, flying to Athens and then Athens to Mykonos takes around 40 minutes on the second leg. Total journey time is around 4 to 5 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Your best option

Take the direct ferry from Andros south through Tinos to Mykonos. It is the most natural and enjoyable connection and one of the most frequent routes in the northern Cyclades. Book ahead in July and August as Mykonos fills up fast. If you are traveling with a car, the conventional Blue Star ferry takes your vehicle directly to Mykonos New Port.
