Getting from Andros to Skopelos

If you are heading to Skopelos from Andros you are making your way from the northernmost island in the Cyclades to an island in the Sporades, in the northern Aegean. It has a densely forested coastline, a Chora of white houses and slate roofs climbing steeply above the port and over 120 churches.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Andros to Skopelos. The two islands are in different island groups with no sea connection between them. Getting there means taking the ferry from Andros to Rafina, which runs up to 11 times daily and takes around 1 to 2 hours, and then traveling by road to Mantoudi in northern Evia, around 2 hours from Rafina, for the ferry to Skopelos taking around 1.5 hours. Volos is also an option, around 3.5 hours from Rafina via Athens. Note that as of 2026 there are no departures from Agios Konstantinos to Skopelos.

Getting there by air

Skopelos has no airport. The nearest airport is Skiathos, with connections from Athens. Andros has no airport either. Taking the ferry from Andros to Rafina, flying to Athens and then Athens to Skiathos, followed by the short ferry from Skiathos to Skopelos taking around 1 hour, gives a total journey time of around 5 to 6 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Your best option

Take the ferry from Andros to Rafina and drive to Mantoudi for the ferry across to Skopelos. It keeps the journey away from central Athens and is the most practical overland approach. If you prefer to fly, take the ferry from Andros to Rafina, fly to Athens and then fly to Skiathos and take the ferry across to Skopelos. If you are traveling with a car, the Mantoudi ferry is the practical choice as it takes your vehicle directly to the island.
