Getting from Antikythera to Paros

If you are heading to Paros from Antikythera you are making your way from one of the most remote islands in Greece to the hub of the Cyclades, on the opposite side of the country. It has one of the most beautiful small harbour villages in Greece at Naoussa, long sandy beaches on the west coast and a position at the centre of the island ferry network.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Antikythera to Paros. Antikythera's ferry connections are limited to Kythira, Piraeus, Kissamos in Crete and occasional ports on the southern Peloponnese. Getting to Paros means taking the ferry from Antikythera to Piraeus, which takes around 9 hours, and then boarding the Piraeus to Paros ferry, which runs multiple times daily in summer and takes around 3 hours on the fast catamaran and 4 to 5 hours on a conventional vessel. Note that Paros National Airport has no commercial scheduled flights operating in 2026.

Getting there by air

Paros has a small airstrip but no commercial scheduled flights in 2026. Antikythera has no airport, only a helipad. Taking the ferry from Antikythera to Kythira, flying to Athens and then taking the ferry from Piraeus to Paros gives a total journey time of around 7 to 8 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Your best option

Take the ferry from Antikythera to Kythira, fly to Athens and take the Piraeus to Paros ferry. The ferry delivers you directly to Parikia port in the centre of the island. Book ahead in July and August as this is one of the most popular routes in the Cyclades. If you are traveling with a car, take the overnight ferry from Antikythera to Piraeus and board the conventional Piraeus to Paros ferry, which takes your vehicle directly to the island.
