Getting from Antiparos to Agathonisi

If you are heading to Agathonisi from Antiparos you are making your way from a small quiet island in the Cyclades to one of the most remote islands in the Dodecanese group, on the opposite side of Greece. It has almost no tourist infrastructure and an atmosphere of complete isolation.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Antiparos to Agathonisi. Antiparos is connected only to Paros by a 7 minute ferry from Pounta running every 30 minutes in summer. Getting to Agathonisi means taking the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros, making your way to Piraeus and flying to Leros or Samos via Athens, followed by the local ferry to Agathonisi, which runs 3 to 5 times a week and takes around 1 to 2 hours.

Getting there by air

Agathonisi has no airport. The nearest airports are Leros and Samos. Antiparos has no airport either. Taking the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros, making your way to Piraeus and flying to Leros or Samos via Athens, followed by the local ferry to Agathonisi, gives a total journey time of around 7 to 8 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Your best option

Take the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros, make your way to Piraeus and fly to Leros or Samos via Athens, then take the local ferry across to Agathonisi. Check the ferry schedule before booking your flights as the service runs a limited number of times per week. Build flexibility into your plans as Agathonisi is not the easiest island to leave in a hurry.
