Getting from Antiparos to Parga

If you are heading to Parga from Antiparos you are making your way from a small quiet island in the Cyclades to a Venetian-built harbour town on the Epirus coast, on the opposite side of Greece. It faces the Ionian Sea with good beaches and a relaxed waterfront atmosphere.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Antiparos to Parga. Antiparos is connected only to Paros by a 7 minute ferry from Pounta running every 30 minutes in summer. Parga is a mainland coastal town with no connection to the Cyclades ferry network. Getting to Parga means taking the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros, making your way to Piraeus and then either flying to Preveza and taking a taxi or bus to Parga, which takes around 1 hour, or flying to Ioannina and taking the bus to Parga, which takes around 1.5 hours.

Getting there by air

Parga has no airport. The nearest airports are Preveza, around 65 kilometres south, and Ioannina, around 103 kilometres east. Antiparos has no airport either. Taking the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros, making your way to Piraeus and flying to Preveza via Athens, followed by a taxi or bus to Parga, gives a total journey time of around 7 to 8 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Your best option

Take the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros, make your way to Piraeus and fly to Preveza via Athens, then take a taxi or bus to Parga. It is the most practical approach. If you are traveling with a car, take the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros and drive northwest via the E65 motorway to Parga, which takes around 5 to 6 hours from Athens.
