Getting from Antiparos to Sikinos
If you are heading to Sikinos from Antiparos you are making your way from a small quiet island in the Cyclades to one of the lesser talked about islands in the group, in the southern part of the Aegean. It has a Chora perched on a ridge above the port and an atmosphere of genuine calm that sets it apart from its more visited neighbours.
Take the ferry
There is a seasonal direct ferry from Antiparos to Sikinos running in summer on the wider Blue Star and Seajets routes. The service runs a limited number of times per week and takes around 4 to 7 hours with stops along the way. The more practical approach is to take the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros, which takes 7 minutes from Pounta, and then board the Paros to Sikinos ferry, which runs several times a week in summer. Alternatively, continue south from Paros via Naxos to Santorini and take the short ferry from Santorini to Sikinos, which takes around 2 to 3 hours.
Getting there by air
Sikinos has no airport. The nearest airport is Santorini. Antiparos has no airport either. Taking the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros, making your way to Piraeus and flying to Santorini via Athens, followed by the short ferry to Sikinos, gives a total journey time of around 6 to 7 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.
Your best option
Take the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros and connect south through the Cyclades to Sikinos, either directly or via Santorini. It keeps the journey entirely within the Cyclades and avoids Athens entirely. If you are traveling with a car, take the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros, drive to Piraeus and board the conventional Piraeus to Sikinos ferry, which takes your vehicle directly to the island.
