Getting from Antiparos to Folegandros

If you are heading to Folegandros from Antiparos you are making your way from a small quiet island in the Cyclades to a small clifftop island in the southern part of the group. It has a Chora perched on the edge of a sheer drop above the sea and an atmosphere of genuine calm.

Take the ferry

There is a seasonal direct ferry from Antiparos to Folegandros running in summer on the wider Blue Star and Seajets routes. The service runs a limited number of times per week and takes around 3 to 6 hours with stops along the way. The more practical approach is to take the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros, which takes 7 minutes from Pounta, and then board the Paros to Folegandros ferry, which runs several times a week in summer and takes around 3 to 5 hours. Alternatively, continue south from Paros via Santorini and take the short ferry from Santorini to Folegandros, which takes around 45 to 50 minutes.

Getting there by air

Folegandros has no airport. The nearest airport is Santorini. Antiparos has no airport either. Taking the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros and continuing south through the Cyclades to Folegandros keeps the journey entirely within the island group and avoids Athens entirely. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Your best option

Take the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros and connect south through the Cyclades to Folegandros, either directly or via Santorini. It keeps the journey entirely within the Cyclades and avoids Athens entirely. If you are traveling with a car, take the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros, drive to Piraeus and board the conventional Piraeus to Folegandros ferry, which takes your vehicle directly to the island.
