Getting from Antiparos to Andros

If you are heading to Andros from Antiparos you are making your way from a small quiet island in the Cyclades to the northernmost island in the group. It has neoclassical mansions, an art museum of genuinely international quality and a network of old footpaths connecting the villages.

Take the ferry

There is a direct seasonal ferry from Antiparos to Andros running in summer on the wider Blue Star and Seajets routes that connect the southern and northern Cyclades. The journey takes around 5 to 8 hours with stops along the way through Paros, Mykonos and Tinos. The more practical approach for most travelers is to take the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros, which takes 7 minutes from Pounta, continue north through Mykonos and Tinos to Andros, or make your way to Rafina and take the direct Rafina to Andros ferry, which runs up to 11 times daily in summer and takes around 1 to 2 hours.

Getting there by air

Andros has no airport. The nearest airport is Athens. Antiparos has no airport either. Taking the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros, making your way to Rafina and boarding the ferry to Andros gives a total journey time of around 5 to 6 hours without flying at all. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Your best option

Take the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros and travel north through the Cyclades to Andros, or make your way to Rafina for the direct ferry. Rafina is a short taxi ride from Athens Airport making it a convenient connection. If you are traveling with a car, take the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros, drive to Rafina and take the conventional ferry across to Andros.
