Getting from Antiparos to Athens

If you are heading to Athens from Antiparos you are making your way from a small quiet island in the Cyclades to the capital of Greece and the gateway to everything it connects to.

Take the ferry

The most practical sea approach is to take the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros, which takes 7 minutes from Pounta and runs every 30 minutes in summer, and then board the Paros to Piraeus ferry, which runs multiple times daily in summer and takes around 3 hours on the fast catamaran and 4 to 5 hours on the conventional vessel. From Piraeus the metro takes around 20 minutes to central Athens.

Getting there by air

Antiparos has no airport. The nearest airport is Paros, though no commercial scheduled flights operate there in 2026. The ferry from Antiparos to Paros and then Paros to Piraeus is the most practical connection to Athens.

Your best option

Take the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros and board the Paros to Piraeus ferry. Book ahead in July and August as the fast catamaran from Paros fills up quickly. From Piraeus the metro connects you directly to central Athens in around 20 minutes. If you are traveling with a car, the conventional ferry from Paros takes your vehicle directly to Piraeus port.
