Getting from Antiparos to Lavrio

If you are heading to Lavrio from Antiparos you are making your way from a small quiet island in the Cyclades to the third ferry port serving Athens, on the southeastern tip of Attica around 30 minutes from Athens Airport. It is the departure point for ferries to Kea, Kythnos and several other Cycladic islands.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Antiparos to Lavrio. Antiparos is connected only to Paros by a 7 minute ferry from Pounta running every 30 minutes in summer. Getting to Lavrio means taking the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros, making your way to Piraeus and then traveling to Lavrio by taxi, which takes around 45 minutes to 1 hour from Piraeus. A more convenient approach is to make your way to Athens Airport and then take a taxi directly to Lavrio, which takes around 20 to 30 minutes.

Getting there by air

Lavrio has no airport. The nearest airport is Athens International, around 30 kilometres to the northwest. Antiparos has no airport either. Taking the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros, making your way to Piraeus and then taking a taxi to Lavrio gives a total journey time of around 6 to 7 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Your best option

Take the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros, make your way to Athens Airport and take a taxi directly to Lavrio. At around 20 to 30 minutes from the airport it is one of the most convenient port connections in Greece. If you are heading to Kea or Kythnos from Lavrio, ferries to both islands run frequently throughout the day in summer. If you are traveling with a car, take the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros and drive to Lavrio via Athens.
