Getting from Antiparos to Lemnos

If you are heading to Lemnos from Antiparos you are making your way from a small quiet island in the Cyclades to an island in the northern Aegean, in a completely different part of the Greek island world. Lemnos has long sandy beaches, a Byzantine castle above the harbour at Myrina and some of the best Muscat wine in Greece.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Antiparos to Lemnos. Antiparos is connected only to Paros by a 7 minute ferry from Pounta running every 30 minutes in summer. Getting to Lemnos by sea means taking the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros, making your way to Piraeus and boarding the long Piraeus to Lemnos ferry, which runs around 3 times a week via multiple northern Aegean islands and takes around 12 to 15 hours. Flying is considerably more practical for most travelers.

Getting there by air

Lemnos has its own airport with daily connections from Athens. Antiparos has no airport either. Taking the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros, making your way to Piraeus and flying to Lemnos via Athens gives a total journey time of around 6 to 7 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Your best option

Take the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros, make your way to Piraeus and fly to Lemnos via Athens. It is the fastest and most practical approach. Lemnos Airport is around 22 kilometres from Myrina so factor in a taxi on arrival. If you are traveling with a car, take the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros, drive to Piraeus and board the overnight Piraeus to Lemnos ferry, which takes your vehicle and arrives in the morning.
