Getting from Antiparos to Paxos

If you are heading to Paxos from Antiparos you are making your way from a small quiet island in the Cyclades to a small island in the Ionian Sea, on the opposite side of Greece. It has ancient olive groves, turquoise coves and a Venetian harbour at Gaios that is one of the most charming in Greece.

Take the ferry

There are no scheduled ferries from Antiparos to Paxos. Antiparos is connected only to Paros by a 7 minute ferry from Pounta running every 30 minutes in summer. Getting to Paxos means taking the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros, making your way to Piraeus and flying to Corfu via Athens, followed by the ferry from Corfu to Paxos taking around 1 hour 30 minutes. Alternatively, fly to Preveza and connect via Igoumenitsa for the daily car ferry to Paxos.

Getting there by air

Paxos has no airport. The nearest airport is Corfu. Antiparos has no airport either. Taking the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros, making your way to Piraeus and flying to Corfu via Athens, followed by the ferry from Corfu to Paxos, gives a total journey time of around 7 to 8 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Your best option

Take the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros, make your way to Piraeus and fly to Corfu via Athens, then take the ferry across to Paxos. It is the most practical approach. If you are traveling with a car, take the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros and drive northwest to Igoumenitsa for the daily car ferry to Paxos from there, as the Corfu to Paxos ferry does not carry vehicles.
