Getting from Antiparos to Poros

If you are heading to Poros from Antiparos you are making your way from a small quiet island in the Cyclades to a small island in the Saronic Gulf, on the opposite side of Greece. Poros sits just 200 metres from the Peloponnese mainland and the narrow channel between them creates one of the most charming harbour settings in Greece.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Antiparos to Poros. Antiparos is connected only to Paros by a 7 minute ferry from Pounta running every 30 minutes in summer. Getting to Poros means taking the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros, making your way to Piraeus and then boarding the Saronic ferry from Piraeus to Poros, which takes around 1 hour to 1 hour 20 minutes with several daily departures.

Getting there by air

Poros has no airport. The nearest airport is Athens. Antiparos has no airport either. Taking the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros, making your way to Piraeus and taking the Saronic ferry to Poros gives a total journey time of around 6 to 7 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Your best option

Take the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros, make your way to Piraeus and board the Saronic ferry to Poros. It is the most practical approach. If you are traveling with a car, take the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros, drive to Galatas on the Peloponnese coast and take the short local ferry across to Poros, which takes only a few minutes and runs constantly throughout the day.
