Getting from Antiparos to Santorini

If you are heading to Santorini from Antiparos you are making your way from a small quiet island in the Cyclades to the most iconic island in the group, at the southern end of the Aegean. It has caldera views, volcanic beaches and the ancient Minoan site of Akrotiri preserved under volcanic ash.

Take the ferry

There is a seasonal direct ferry from Antiparos to Santorini running in summer on the wider Blue Star and Seajets routes. The service runs a limited number of times per week and takes around 4 to 7 hours with stops along the way. The more practical approach is to take the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros, which takes 7 minutes from Pounta, and then board the Paros to Santorini ferry, which runs multiple times daily in summer and takes around 3 to 5 hours depending on the vessel.

Getting there by air

Santorini has an international airport with daily connections from Athens. Antiparos has no airport either. Taking the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros and continuing south through the Cyclades to Santorini keeps the journey entirely within the island group and avoids Athens entirely. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Your best option

Take the short ferry from Antiparos to Paros and board the Paros to Santorini ferry. It is the most natural and direct connection and keeps the journey entirely within the Cyclades. Arriving into the caldera by sea is one of the great island arrivals in Greece. Book ahead in July and August as this is one of the most popular routes in the Cyclades. If you are traveling with a car, the conventional ferry from Paros takes your vehicle directly to Athinios port on Santorini.
