Getting from Antipaxos to Alonissos

If you are heading to Alonissos from Antipaxos you are making your way from a tiny island in the Ionian Sea to the most remote of the Sporades group, in the northern Aegean. It has a densely forested coastline, a beautifully preserved old village above the port and a marine park that protects the largest colony of Mediterranean monk seals in Europe.

Take the ferry

There are no scheduled ferries from Antipaxos to Alonissos. Antipaxos has no ferry port of its own and is accessible only by sea taxi from Gaios on Paxos. Getting to Alonissos means taking the sea taxi from Antipaxos to Paxos, the ferry from Paxos to Corfu, flying to Athens and then flying to Skiathos and taking the short ferry from Skiathos to Alonissos, which takes around 1 to 2 hours. Alternatively, fly to Athens and drive to Volos or Mantoudi for the ferry to Alonissos. Note that as of 2026 there are no departures from Agios Konstantinos to Alonissos.

Getting there by air

Alonissos has no airport. The nearest airport is Skiathos, with connections from Athens. Antipaxos has no airport either. Taking the sea taxi from Antipaxos to Paxos, the ferry from Paxos to Corfu and flying to Athens and then Athens to Skiathos, followed by the ferry from Skiathos to Alonissos, gives a total journey time of around 7 to 8 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Your best option

Take the sea taxi from Antipaxos to Paxos, the ferry from Paxos to Corfu, fly to Athens and then fly to Skiathos and take the ferry across to Alonissos. It is the most practical approach. If you are traveling with a car, take the sea taxi from Antipaxos to Paxos and drive to Volos or Mantoudi for the ferry to Alonissos from there.
