Getting from Antipaxos to Serifos

If you are heading to Serifos from Antipaxos you are making your way from a tiny island in the Ionian Sea to an island in the western Cyclades, on the opposite side of Greece. It has a Chora that climbs a steep hill above the port in a way that looks almost impossibly dramatic from the water.

Take the ferry

There are no scheduled ferries from Antipaxos to Serifos. Antipaxos has no ferry port of its own and is accessible only by sea taxi from Gaios on Paxos. Getting to Serifos means taking the sea taxi from Antipaxos to Paxos, the ferry from Paxos to Corfu, flying to Athens and then taking the Piraeus to Serifos ferry, which runs 4 to 5 times daily in summer and takes around 2 to 3.5 hours on the fast boat.

Getting there by air

Serifos has no airport. The nearest airport is Athens. Antipaxos has no airport either. Taking the sea taxi from Antipaxos to Paxos, the ferry from Paxos to Corfu and flying to Athens, then taking the ferry from Piraeus to Serifos gives a total journey time of around 7 to 8 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Your best option

Take the sea taxi from Antipaxos to Paxos, the ferry from Paxos to Corfu, fly to Athens and take the ferry from Piraeus to Serifos. At around 2 to 3.5 hours the Piraeus to Serifos crossing is one of the more manageable Cyclades connections. If you are traveling with a car, take the sea taxi from Antipaxos to Paxos and drive to Piraeus for the conventional Piraeus to Serifos ferry, which takes your vehicle directly to Livadi port.
