Getting from Antipaxos to Paxos
If you are heading to Paxos from Antipaxos you are making the most natural and effortless connection from the island, to the closest major island just to the north. Paxos has ancient olive groves, turquoise coves and a Venetian harbour at Gaios that is one of the most charming in Greece.
Take the ferry
The only connection from Antipaxos to Paxos is by sea taxi or small boat from Gaios on Paxos, with the trip taking around 15 to 20 minutes. Sea taxis run regularly throughout the day in summer and can be arranged directly from the small quayside on Antipaxos. No advance booking is required and you simply negotiate directly with the boat operators on the day.
Getting there by air
Paxos has no airport and neither does Antipaxos. The sea taxi is the only realistic option for this connection and at 15 to 20 minutes it is one of the most effortless island hops in Greece.
Your best option
Take the sea taxi from Antipaxos to Gaios on Paxos. It is fast, frequent in summer and the only way between the two islands. Arrange your return crossing before exploring Antipaxos so you know the last departure time. Antipaxos is most rewarding as a day trip or overnight from Paxos and the sea taxi connection makes it one of the easiest excursions in the Ionian.
