Getting from Antipaxos to Skiathos

If you are heading to Skiathos from Antipaxos you are making your way from a tiny island in the Ionian Sea to the most cosmopolitan of the Sporades group, in the northern Aegean. It has a lush green coastline, an international airport and some of the finest sandy beaches in the northern Aegean.

Take the ferry

There are no scheduled ferries from Antipaxos to Skiathos. Antipaxos has no ferry port of its own and is accessible only by sea taxi from Gaios on Paxos. Getting to Skiathos by sea means taking the sea taxi from Antipaxos to Paxos, the ferry from Paxos to Igoumenitsa and then driving to Volos or Mantoudi in northern Evia for the ferry to Skiathos. Note that as of 2026 there are no departures from Agios Konstantinos to Skiathos.

Getting there by air

Skiathos has its own international airport with daily connections from Athens and Thessaloniki. Antipaxos has no airport either. Taking the sea taxi from Antipaxos to Paxos, the ferry from Paxos to Corfu and flying to Thessaloniki and then Thessaloniki to Skiathos avoids Athens entirely and gives a total journey time of around 5 to 6 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Your best option

Take the sea taxi from Antipaxos to Paxos, the ferry from Paxos to Corfu and fly to Thessaloniki and then to Skiathos. It avoids Athens entirely and is the most practical approach. If you are traveling with a car, take the sea taxi from Antipaxos to Paxos, ferry to Igoumenitsa and drive to Volos or Mantoudi for the ferry across to Skiathos.
