Getting from Arki to Lipsi
If you are heading to Lipsi from Arki you are making one of the most natural connections from the island, to a small island in the northern Dodecanese just a short distance away. It has a pretty harbour village, uncrowded beaches and an atmosphere of complete calm.
Take the ferry
There is a direct ferry from Arki to Lipsi running almost daily in summer, taking around 35 minutes. It is one of the most effortless and natural connections from Arki and part of the regular Dodekanisos Seaways route through the northern Dodecanese. The service runs several times a week even in the low season. Check the schedule before traveling as times vary by season.
Getting there by air
Lipsi has no airport. The nearest airport is Leros. Arki has no airport either. The direct ferry to Lipsi is the only realistic option for this short connection and at around 35 minutes it is one of the briefest island hops in the Dodecanese.
Your best option
Take the direct ferry from Arki to Lipsi. It is fast, frequent in summer and the most natural connection from the island. From Lipsi you can continue south through the Dodecanese or take the short ferry to Patmos and Leros for onward connections. Check the schedule before traveling as times vary by season. Give yourself at least two nights on Lipsi. The island rewards those who slow down enough to appreciate it.
