Getting from Chios to Antiparos

If you are heading to Antiparos from Chios you are making your way from one of the most overlooked islands in the northeastern Aegean to a small island just off the western coast of Paros in the Cyclades, on the opposite side of Greece. It has a Venetian kastro village, good beaches and an atmosphere that rewards those who stay overnight rather than visiting on a day trip from Paros.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Chios to Antiparos. Antiparos is accessible only via Paros, either by a 7 minute local ferry from Pounta on the western coast of Paros running every 30 minutes in summer, or by passenger boat from Parikia taking around 30 minutes. Getting there means taking the overnight Chios to Piraeus ferry, which runs around 3 times a week and takes around 9 hours, and then the Piraeus to Paros ferry, which runs multiple times daily in summer, before crossing to Antiparos from Pounta. Alternatively fly from Chios to Athens and take the Piraeus to Paros ferry.

Getting there by air

Antiparos has no airport. The nearest airport is Paros, though no commercial scheduled flights operate there in 2026. Chios has its own airport with daily connections from Athens. Flying from Chios to Athens and then taking the ferry from Piraeus to Paros, before crossing to Antiparos from Pounta, gives a total journey time of around 6 to 7 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Your best option

Fly from Chios to Athens and take the Piraeus to Paros ferry, then cross to Antiparos from Pounta. The Pounta to Antiparos ferry runs every 30 minutes in summer and takes 7 minutes. If you are traveling with a car, take the overnight ferry from Chios to Piraeus and board the conventional Piraeus to Paros ferry, then drive across to Antiparos from Pounta.
