Getting from Chios to Paros

If you are heading to Paros from Chios you are making your way from one of the most overlooked islands in the northeastern Aegean to the hub of the Cyclades, on the opposite side of the Aegean. Paros has one of the most beautiful small harbour villages in Greece at Naoussa, long sandy beaches on the west coast and a position at the centre of the island ferry network.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Chios to Paros. Getting there by sea means taking the Chios to Mykonos ferry, which runs around 3 times a week and takes around 3 to 4 hours, and then the Mykonos to Paros ferry, which runs multiple times daily in summer and takes around 45 minutes to 1.5 hours. Total journey time by sea is around 10 to 12 hours including the wait for the connection. Note that Paros National Airport has no commercial scheduled flights operating in 2026.

Getting there by air

Paros has a small airstrip but no commercial scheduled flights in 2026. The most practical approach is to fly from Chios to Athens and then take the Piraeus to Paros ferry, which runs multiple times daily and takes around 3 to 4.5 hours. Alternatively fly from Chios to Athens and then fly to Mykonos and take the short ferry from Mykonos to Paros, which takes around 45 minutes to 1.5 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Your best option

Fly from Chios to Athens and take the Piraeus to Paros ferry. It is the most practical and frequent connection. Book ahead in July and August as this is one of the most popular routes in the Cyclades. If you prefer to stay at sea, take the ferry from Chios to Mykonos and connect to Paros from there, though the long wait between connections makes flying via Athens more practical for most travelers. If you are traveling with a car, take the overnight ferry from Chios to Piraeus and board the conventional Piraeus to Paros ferry, which takes your vehicle directly to Parikia port.
