Getting from Donoussa to Igoumenitsa

Igoumenitsa has no airport. The nearest airport is Ioannina, around 83 kilometres to the east. Donoussa has no airport. The nearest airport is Naxos. Taking the ferry from Donoussa to Piraeus and flying from Athens to Ioannina, followed by a bus or taxi to Igoumenitsa, gives a total journey time of around 12 to 14 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Take the ferry from Donoussa to Piraeus and fly from Athens to Ioannina, then take the bus or taxi to Igoumenitsa. Check the Donoussa to Piraeus departure days before planning as the service runs a limited number of times per week. If you are traveling with a car, take the ferry from Donoussa to Piraeus and drive northwest via the Egnatia motorway to Igoumenitsa, which takes around 5 to 6 hours from Athens.
