Getting from Paros to Samos

If you are heading to Samos from Paros you are making your way to one of the most beautiful and most underrated islands in the Aegean, a green and mountainous island close to the Turkish coast with wine production dating back to antiquity and a working port atmosphere at Vathy that feels nothing like the Cyclades.

Take the ferry

There is a direct seasonal ferry from Paros to Samos running in summer, taking around 5 to 7 hours depending on the vessel and the stops along the way. The route is not year-round so check the schedule before planning around it. Outside of the summer season the connection goes via Piraeus.

Getting there by air

Both Paros and Samos have airports. Flying from Paros to Athens takes around 45 minutes and then Athens to Samos takes around 50 minutes. Total travel time is around 3 to 4 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Your best option

Fly via Athens if time matters. At around 3 to 4 hours total it is considerably faster than the seasonal ferry. If the ferry timing works perfectly for your schedule and you want the sea journey it is a good option, but flying is the right choice for most people.
