Getting from Spetses to Kimolos
If you are heading to Kimolos from Spetses you are making your way from a car-free island in the Saronic Gulf to a small white island just off the northwestern tip of Milos in the western Cyclades, on the opposite side of Attica. It has beaches that see a fraction of the crowds found anywhere nearby.
Take the ferry
There is no direct ferry from Spetses to Kimolos. Getting there means taking the Saronic ferry from Spetses to Piraeus, which runs up to 10 times daily and takes around 2 to 3.5 hours, and then either flying from Athens to Milos and taking the short local ferry from Pollonia to Kimolos taking around 20 to 25 minutes, or boarding the Piraeus to Milos ferry and then crossing to Kimolos from Pollonia on the local ferry.
Getting there by air
Kimolos has no airport. The nearest airport is Milos. Spetses has no airport. The nearest airport is Athens. Taking the Saronic ferry from Spetses to Piraeus, flying from Athens to Milos and then taking the short local ferry from Pollonia to Kimolos gives a total journey time of around 4 to 5 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.
Your best option
Take the Saronic ferry from Spetses to Piraeus and fly from Athens to Milos, then take the short local ferry across to Kimolos. It is the most practical approach. Note that Spetses is car-free so if you are traveling with a car it would be at the mainland port of Kosta, from where you can drive to Piraeus and board the conventional Piraeus to Milos ferry, then cross to Kimolos from Pollonia on the local ferry.
