Getting from Tinos to Folegandros

If you are heading to Folegandros from Tinos you are making your way from the most venerated pilgrimage island in the Cyclades to a small clifftop island in the southern Cyclades, in the same island group. Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Tinos to Folegandros. Getting there by sea means taking the ferry from Tinos south through the Cyclades via Mykonos, Paros and Santorini to Folegandros, with the short crossing from Santorini to Folegandros taking around 45 to 50 minutes. This keeps the journey entirely within the Cyclades and avoids Athens and Piraeus entirely. Alternatively take the ferry from Tinos to Piraeus and then the Piraeus to Folegandros ferry, which runs several times daily in summer and takes around 4 to 8 hours.

Folegandros has no airport. The nearest airport is Santorini. Tinos has no airport. The nearest airport is Mykonos. Taking the short ferry from Tinos to Mykonos, flying from Mykonos to Athens and then Athens to Santorini, followed by the short ferry to Folegandros, gives a total journey time of around 5 to 6 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Take the ferry from Tinos south through the Cyclades to Santorini and then the short ferry across to Folegandros. It keeps the journey entirely within the Cyclades and avoids Athens entirely.
