Getting from Zakynthos to Antiparos

If you are heading to Antiparos from Zakynthos you are making your way from one of the most beautiful of the Ionian islands to a small island just off the western coast of Paros in the Cyclades, on the opposite side of Greece. It has a Venetian kastro village, good beaches and an atmosphere that rewards those who stay overnight rather than visiting on a day trip from Paros.

Getting there by air

Antiparos has no airport. The nearest airport is Paros, though no commercial scheduled flights operate there in 2026. Zakynthos has an international airport with connections from Athens. Flying from Zakynthos to Athens and then taking the Piraeus to Paros ferry, which runs multiple times daily in summer, before crossing to Antiparos from Pounta by local ferry taking 7 minutes, gives a total journey time of around 6 to 7 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Zakynthos to Antiparos. No Ionian island is connected by sea to any Aegean island. Antiparos is accessible only via Paros, either by a 7 minute local ferry from Pounta running every 30 minutes in summer or by passenger boat from Parikia taking around 30 minutes. Getting there by road means taking the ferry from Zakynthos to Kyllini and driving to Piraeus for the Piraeus to Paros ferry, before crossing to Antiparos from Pounta. The total journey by road and sea takes the better part of two days.

Your best option

Fly from Zakynthos to Athens and take the Piraeus to Paros ferry, then cross to Antiparos from Pounta. The Pounta to Antiparos ferry runs every 30 minutes in summer and takes 7 minutes. If you are traveling with a car, take the ferry from Zakynthos to Kyllini and drive to Piraeus for the conventional Piraeus to Paros ferry, then drive across to Antiparos from Pounta.
