Getting from Zakynthos to Milos
If you are heading to Milos from Zakynthos you are making your way to one of the most visually striking islands in the Cyclades, on the opposite side of Greece. It has a volcanic coastline of white and ochre rock formations and beaches that look like nowhere else in the Aegean.
Take the ferry
There is no direct ferry from Zakynthos to Milos. No Ionian island is connected by sea to any Aegean island. Getting there by sea means taking the bus and ferry from Zakynthos to Athens and then the Piraeus to Milos ferry, which takes around 3 to 5 hours on the fast boat. The total journey takes around 10 to 12 hours.
Getting there by air
Both Zakynthos and Milos have airports. Flying from Zakynthos to Athens and then Athens to Milos gives a total journey time of around 4 to 5 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.
Your best option
Fly via Athens. It is the most practical approach. If you are travelling with a car, take the ferry from Zakynthos to Kyllini and drive to Piraeus for the ferry to Milos.
