Getting from Zakynthos to Patras

If you are heading to Patras from Zakynthos you are making your way to the third largest city in Greece on the southern shore of the Gulf of Corinth, the main gateway to the Ionian islands and western Europe.

Take the ferry

There is a direct ferry from Zakynthos to Patras running several times daily, taking around 1 hour 15 minutes. It is one of the most straightforward connections from the island and avoids the need to go via Kyllini entirely. The KTEL bus also runs directly from Zakynthos to Patras combining the ferry and road journey, taking around 3 hours in total.

Getting there by air

Patras has no airport. The nearest airport is Athens. Flying is not a practical option for this route given the direct ferry connection.

Your best option

Take the direct ferry from Zakynthos to Patras. At around 1 hour 15 minutes it is one of the most effortless connections available from the island. If you are travelling with a car the ferry takes vehicles and runs frequently throughout the day.
