About Giorgos Kakosaios

Early Life

Giorgos Kakosaios was born on February 19, 2000, in Athens, the eldest son of popular Greek Laïko singer Giannis Ploutarchos. He showed an early love for music, taking guitar, piano, and vocal lessons as a child, and also played goalkeeper in the Panathinaikos football academy. He first performed on stage at nine, singing "To Fonazo," and later taught himself guitar, going on to compose music for himself and other artists.

Musical Style & Sound

Kakosaios performs modern Laïko blended with traditional Greek elements, known for a powerful voice and emotional delivery within the same genre his father helped define.

Career Rise

Kakosaios made his debut as a composer writing "De Mou Paei I Monaxia" for his father's platinum album "Tragoudia Akatallila." His professional recording career began in 2020 when he signed with Panik Records, and he won Best Newcomer at the MAD Video Music Awards. In summer 2021, he began performing alongside Giannis Ploutarchos and Natasa Theodoridou across Greece and Cyprus, expanding his profile significantly. His catalog includes hits such as "Ela," "Ena Lepto," "Mi Me Rotas," "Tha Ta Katafero," and "Den Se Xehno," along with earlier singles "Psemata," "Erotas Moiazei," "I Mia," and "Min Tis Pite," a modern zeibekiko he co-wrote with lyricist Nikos Sarris.
