About the Beach

Apokrousi is one of the largest and most impressive sandy beaches on Kythnos, located in a deep and well-protected bay on the western coast. It is famous for its long stretch of fine sand and the many tamarisk trees that provide excellent natural shade along the entire shoreline. The water is very shallow and clear, making it a top choice for families with children and for those who enjoy long strolls in the sea. While it is mostly unorganized, there is a small beach bar and a traditional taverna nearby, offering a perfect balance of comfort and natural beauty. The bay is so large that it never feels crowded, providing a sense of openness and peace. It is a fantastic spot to watch the sun set over the Aegean, as the western light reflects beautifully on the calm water. It is a reliable and high-quality destination for a full day of relaxation.
