About the Beach
Blefoutis Beach is a spectacular and remarkably tranquil coastal sanctuary on the northern coast of Leros, located within a deep natural bay that remains well-sheltered from the strong Aegean winds and offering a peaceful atmosphere for visitors. It features a long shore of fine golden sand and small pebbles with crystal-clear turquoise water that is consistently calm and shallow near the edge, making it a safe and inviting spot for families and those who prefer a relaxed swim. The beach is partially organized with a few rows of sunbeds and is lined with large tamarisk trees that provide a generous amount of natural shade and a fresh, green backdrop to the Mediterranean scenery. A notable feature of the area is a large World War II monument consisting of a grape-shot gun located toward the end of the beach, providing a deep connection to the island's modern history. A traditional taverna is located nearby, serving fresh local fish and traditional Dodecanese specialties in a friendly and domestic setting that captures the authentic spirit of the local community. Access is very easy via a paved road from the area of Partheni, and there is a spacious parking area available for the visitors who arrive to enjoy this pristine northern retreat.
