About the Beach
Kolona Beach is a quiet stretch of sand and pebbles located right at the foot of the Archaeological Site of Kolona, just a short walk from the main port of Aegina. This beach is unique because it is overlooked by the single standing column of the ancient Temple of Apollo, giving you a direct view of the ruins while you swim. The water is consistently clear and stays relatively shallow, making it a very accessible place for a quick dip or for families who want to stay close to town. Because it is slightly separated from the harbor by the archaeological hill, it feels a bit more secluded and peaceful than the beaches in the center of the village. It is an ideal spot if you want to combine a bit of historical exploration with some time by the sea in a relaxed setting.
