About the Beach
Portes Beach is a quiet, secluded stretch on the eastern coast of Aegina that feels very far away from the busy tourist centers. It is a traditional fishing village where the beach is mostly made up of large pebbles and some darker sand, giving it a more rugged and natural character. The water is deep and exceptionally clear, and because it faces away from the main port, it is usually much more peaceful than the beaches on the west side of the island. There are a few pine trees that come right down to the edge of the shore, and the small harbor nearby adds to the relaxed, local atmosphere. This beach is a great choice if you want to escape the crowds and enjoy a slow day by the sea with a view of the mountains on the mainland.
